Austin Smith
Game Programmer
Welcome! I'm Austin, a Game Programmer from Orlando, Florida. I've been developing games for over a decade and programming them for over five years. I'm currently working at Electronic Arts as a rendering software engineer intern. I earned my masters in interactive entertainment at the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy.
My coding prioritizes clarity and flexibility. I develop software with the larger context of the codebase in mind, working with fellow developers to ensure we're writing durable yet expandable code. I especially love computer graphics, scripting language development, and engine tools.
In my own time, I'm a game design fan who loves tabletop roleplaying games, board games, and co-op games with friends. I love to cook for friends, especially curries. I also compose music and sing in my own time! My favorite games are The King's Dilemma, ULTRAKILL, Minecraft, Disco Elysium, and Riven: The Sequel to Myst. I love games that answer interesting game design questions and mix unusual genres.
